Why are low notes so beautiful yet so hard to produce?
The secret to playing good low notes is to do less than you think.
Whaaat? 🤔🤯
Yes, 99% of students learning the saxophone tend to overdo things, creating extra tension in the facial muscles.
This over-tensing naturally causes the low notes to jump up the octave.
And no, it’s not the saxophone's fault, and there’s no leak.
You can fix this by simply using the ‘ocean sound’ technique and blowing a good amount of warm air before playing the note.
Slowly transitioning into the notes will make them smooth.
Give it a try! It works!
And if you’re struggling with your playing and feel all over the place, you can now apply to be part of my exclusive mentorship program.
Applications are open, and we only have 7 places available for the next reopening on September 3.
To apply simply comment “me” below, and I’ll send you more info.
Happy playing!
