Asthma Action Plans are normally made at your asthma review with your asthma review however you may also make one with your GP.
They contain information about which medicines you take on a regular basis. It also tells you what to do if your asthma symptoms are getting worse. In the case of an asthma attack you should call 999.
Keep your asthma action plan somewhere you will see it regularly such as the front of a fridge or with your medications – you can also take a photo of it and keep it on you at all times. It can be a good idea to share this with family and for anyone who cares for a child with asthma.
It is good practice to check your plan regularly and to update it when your medicines change.
