This vlog is an introduction to a new segment I’m calling Supercar Bigbits. You may’ve seen my Supercar Tidbits segment in a previous vlog…in that segment, I showcase a handful of cars during a car show and speak with the owners to get some interesting tidbits about their cars. Supercar Bigbits is going to be similar but I plan to focus the entire vlog on one car and its owner.
My first Supercar Bigbits is going to be about my own 2016 Corvette Z06. This is a two-part series. In this vlog (part one), I’ll give you a little history on what led me to consider the C7 Z06 in general and how I was attracted to this particular one. I will also share some of the questions and concerns I needed to consider in order to find just the right Corvette for me. I’ll touch on three primary areas: Ride Comfort, Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires. I was concerned about the comfort of the ride in a Z06 with the Z07 package…I’ve heard horror stories. Carbon Ceramic Brakes are very cool but people were saying they tend to give off an annoying squeal at low speeds. And a big deterrent for me regarding the Z07 package was the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that came standard with the package…they are very expensive and built for the track — not daily driving. I’ll share with you my thoughts regarding these topics.
In part two, I’ll highlight some of the cool, fun features of the C7 Z06 that lend to it being a true and friendly daily driver.
