The Didcot Railway Centre held its annual 'STEAM GALA' on Bank Holiday Weekend 2nd-4th May 2015.
This year the theme for the event was the 50th Anniversary of the closure of the shed as a depot in 1965. To celebrate, five locomotives were steamed including two visitors and the return of a firm favourite following overhaul.
The full line-up was as follows...
- BR(W) 1500-class 0-6-0PT No.1501 (visiting from the Severn Valley Railway).
- GWR 1400-class 0-4-2T No.1450 (visiting from the Severn Valley Railway).
- GWR 5101-class 'Large Prairie' 2-6-2T No.4144 - returning to steam following overhaul.
- GWR 8750-class 0-6-0PT No.3650 - performing shunting demonstrations.
- GWR Steam Railmotor No.93 - working on the Branch Line.
