I visited Auroville for half a day from Pondicherry. I took a tuk tuk there and back so I was limited in what I could see and explore but I started in the vistor centre which was actually really nice with some cafes and shops.

I visited the Exhibition Room and watched the video explaining what the MatriMandir in Auroville is, after that I walked the 1km walk to the MatriMandir which was incredible to see and I loved learning more about Sri Aurobindo and The Mother who created Auroville, this unique, no national experimental town.

I didn't hire a bike or moped so I was limited in my ability to get about which was a shame but many people must visit Auroville on a day trip from Pondicherry and be in the same situation. I had a walk around some of the pavilions but I did start to think it was a bit strange and different to what I expected especially because of the huge amount of trash, surely that's what Auroville is not about!
