I take on faceting a very large piece of quartz. The piece is over twice as large of the largest stone that I have cut up to this point. I spend nearly 40 hours cutting this stone. The starting weight of the rough piece was 3,215 Carats/643 Grams. The cut piece weighs 1,160 carats.

I bought an assortment of new topper laps in different grit sizes just for working on this stone. The massive quartz wore a few of them out. I just bought some cheap ones on amazon that worked with my machine. Topper laps don't cut as true to angle as solid laps, but they are a cheap alternative: [ Ссылка ]
