Lightning is performing a circuit around Luxerion to gather treasures and perform quests.
We left her in the Luxerion Hills district southwest of the North Station Plaza. Continuing on, she arrives in the North-South Corridor, where she finds a shady man named Baird (time 0:14). It sounds like the actor who voiced Jecht may have voiced Baird. Baird will sell Lightning the Seedhunter Membership Card for 2,000 gil. The price seems steep, but it will be worth it. Afterwards, he wants Lightning to visit a Chaos infusion and collect some Soul Seeds for him. The quest that he offers is named "Soul Seeds".
And convently enough, the first Chaos infusion is just to the south of Baird (time 4:02). The darkness has encroached upon the land and created a spot where monsters are stronger and Lightning is weaker. However, Lightning can take advantage of these zones to gain gil and EP faster and collect Soul Seeds.
After collecting some Soul Seeds, she takes them to Baird (time 7:14). He will buy Light's seeds for 400 gil apiece. Not a bad exchange. The rewards include 400 more gil and nice boosts to HP, Strength, and Magic.
Past the corridor that had been covered in Chaos, Lightning can turn down a side avenue to the north to find Solandra (time 8:11). She has distressing news of a Zomok menacing area. Lightning will be able to accept the quest "Born from Chaos". The target is pretty tough, so Light will take it out a little later.
Instead, she continues south to 1st Avenue. In the north of 2nd Avenue, she will find a treasure ball tucked away (time 10:45). This ball contains a Guard Lv. 2.
Southeast, Lightning arrives on the Pilgrim's Passage. Near some reading tables, she will find a treasure ball with a Violet Amulet (time 11:55).
Then, to the southeast, she turnes southwest down a path and finds an area to the south. There, she will find an odd cat named Gem (time 13:01). She will offer the quest "Stuck in a Gem". Evidently, the present occupant has gotten bad end of a deal with a familiar demon. To complete this quest, Lightning must find some Starlit Spice and take it to her real body.
Tucked away in this area is a treasure ball with a Guard Glove (time 17:04). This accessory boosts resistance to physical attacks by 10%.
The closed gates to the east lead to the cathedral (time 19:26). In this area, Lightning can find a Proof of Courage lying on the ground (time 19:42).
Next, Lightning will continue her exploration by traversing the Pilgrim's Causeway to the northeast part of the city.
