Climbing is just climbing until it’s not. In 1959, outsider and rebel, Cesare Maestri, drawn to the siren song of the world’s fiercest mountain, Cerro Torre, ripped a hole in climbing’s only true rule – a climber is only as good as their word. He left behind a string of lies and a mystery of what happened to his vanished partner. For the next five decades, the following generations of climbers would try to right those wrongs and search for the truth amongst the howling winds of Patagonia, but returning this iconic peak to its rightful state would come at a cost that no one would imagine.
