While the South African mining industry generally recorded a significant increase in employment in the third quarter of 2024, mining conglomerate, De Beers is reducing jobs at its Venetia Mine in Alldays, outside Musina in Limpopo. This follows the recent termination of a major contract with prominent engineering and mining company Murray and Roberts. The company was helping to facilitate Venetia's complex transition from open-pit to underground operations.
