Background: This laptops battery seems to be a bad batch according to Dell. The battery died after 2 years. I would receive the following "Alert! The AC adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The systm will adjust the performance to match the power available. Note: This warning can be disabled in BIOS setup". Alone the computer did not turn on, it worked when I had the AC adapter plugged in, so I knew it was the battery was dead. Swapping out the battery fixed my charging issue and I still get the Alert upon boot up, however clicking continue lets me use my laptop as intended. I will post an update once I know how to fix the issue. If you have the same issue, or the fix feel free to post the solution in the comments.
