This document outlines 17 strategies that alienating parents may use to turn a child against the other parent. These include badmouthing the targeted parent, limiting contact, cultivating dependency, forcing the child to choose sides, withdrawing love, asking the child to spy, and withholding important information. The list of 17 alienating behaviors is one diagnostic factor for parental alienation syndrome. Overall, the document provides an overview of tactics that can be used to manipulate a child's relationship with a parent.
