We're back this week with a special edition of Chef vs. Chef! It's Ina Garten vs. Rhee Drummond and their CHICKEN SALAD recipes. Instead of double testing a recipe, we're comparing the two different list of ingredients, steps and taste. We love easy recipes and this couldn't be easier. Chicken, yes. Creamy dressing, yes. Eat, yes. Get your fork or bread, whichever you prefer because we're diving in to a lunchtime favorite!
One recipe, tested by two cooks! - Well this week is two recipe versions by two different chefs, tested and compared by us. See below for links to recipes featured today.
QUICK TIPS WE LEARNED AFTER TEST:
1. Ina Recipe: Make sure you love "Tarragon" before you chop and mix in. Can always add to versus taking out. Because we didn't know if we did, it ended up too much.
2. Ina Recipe: Says to roast the chicken breast yourself, probably could've gotten away with a store bought rotisserie chicken to save time.
3. Rhee Recipe: Says add 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar, please do the 2 tablespoon. The 1 tablespoon gets diluted by the amount of dressing and you want a little of that sweetness as it makes a big difference.
4. Rhee Recipe: The thought of boiled chicken with no seasoning sounds unappealing but boiling as she instructed gives you moist and tender pieces of chicken and the dressing gives it all the flavor you'll need.
5. Last Tip: Add in whatever accompaniments you wish. Jinar really wished she had celery and lemon while I wished I had raisins. Add what you want, or as Rhee says whatever makes your skirt fly up.
