This is a great version of White Room! The basslines from Jack Bruce are surely phenomenal on this live version of the Royal Albert Hall (2005).
Where to start with explaining how great this bassline is? What about Jack’s choice for staccato notes; his slides; his hammer on notes; his great ascending basslines?
But to highlight something: pleas listen to his basslinewhere he goes from solo 1 to solo 2 (bars 112-118). And of course the wonderful ascending bassline where he goes from solo 2 to solo 3 (bars 120-125).
And I like the pedal note bassline very much. Watch/listen to bars 140-146 (last bars of this song).
I’ve also got a video of this song where I explain 5 licks which Jack plays in this song. Please go to the Main Groove Explained Video: [ Ссылка ]
Next to the Main Groove Explained video I’ve also uploaded a Bass & Drums only video of this song. Please go to: [ Ссылка ]
Jack Bruce explains in his own video how he approaches White Room. This is the link [ Ссылка ]
I play this song on a Fender Jazz Bass with roundwound strings. Tuning is E A D G. No effects used except a bit compression and distortion from a preamp. Don’t forget to tune your bass just a bit higher (A4 = 442 Hz).
Bass: Jack Bruce
