In Bishkek hundreds celebrate the resignation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov. The crowd had gathered close at a hotel close to the presidential palace for the start of a protest rally when news of his resignation arrived. In a statement Jeenbekov said that he had "taken the decision to resign" amid a crisis that began over disputed parliamentary elections in the Central Asian state.
