2018 Instagram Cheatsheet:

Note: These are the sizes I use and not the ‘official’ size requirements of Instagram. Instagram compresses photos and videos to a much smaller size to store on their servers. You will likely find variations to these sizes from online tutorials.

Tip: Create presets in your video (Premiere, etc) or photo editor (Photoshop) to speed up your workflow.

Aspect Ratio:
The ratio of width : height

Main Feed of Instagram
1. Square:
1. Pixel Dimensions: 1080 pixels x 1080 pixels
2. Aspect Ratio: 1:1
2. Horizontal
1. Pixel Dimensions: 1080 pixels x 566 pixels
2. Aspect Ratio: 1.91 : 1
3. Vertical
1. Pixel Dimensions: 1080 pixels x 1350 pixels
2. Aspect Ratio: 4:5

Instagram Stories:
1. Pixel Dimensions: 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels
2. Aspect Ratio: 9:16

Instagram TV (IGTV):
1. Pixel Dimensions: 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels
2. Aspect Ratio: 9:16
