The Leopold Conservation Award recognizes extraordinary achievements in voluntary conservation, inspires other landowners through their example, and helps the general public understand the vital role private landowners can and do play in conservation success.
Earlier this year, Missouri landowners were encouraged to apply, or be nominated, for the award. Applications were reviewed by an independent panel of agricultural and conservation leaders. Among the many outstanding Missouri farmers nominated for the award were finalists: Britt Farms of Clifton Hill in Randolph County, Cope Grass Farms of Truxton in Lincoln County and Oetting Homestead Farms of Concordia in Lafayette County.
