The staple French electric locomotive for many decades! Many varients of this locomotive were made including the BB 7200, BB 15000 and the BB 22200.
This one is of BB 22200 varient. Bi-current, it can run where both AC and DC is provided, the two other varients being limited only to one or the other. Fun fact, this is how it's model number was established : 7200 + 15000 = 22200.
About the model. This is a "Junior line" model, meaning that it is an older tooling with a modernised drivetrain and a few extras. You can compare it to Hornby's Railroad line. However, there is a good amount of separately fitted parts on the roof of the locomotive to represent all the electric components. The rest of the shell is one modeled piece. It does the job! My only criticism is that they used the same pantograph for both the AC and DC pickup. Normally they are easy to identify as they are really different. The model also has a DCC socket and lights!
