Since its launch in 1993, the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering has spawned many different competitive formats that may be confusing to newcomers.

With that in mind, Yahoo Southeast Asia asked our resident card game guru, former Hearthstone pro Deborah "Wolfsbanee" Sim, to explain formats like Standard, Legacy, Modern, Historic, Commander, Sealed and Draft.
