In December 2022, #ACCIONAEnergía successfully completed the pouring of foundations for turbines, cleared and graded external roads, finished internal roads and received the first of the #windturbine components. Since then, more than 40 wind turbines have been erected at a rate of around 3 turbines weekly. Commencement of the substation and underground cabling is also underway.
Over the last 6 months, the #construction of the transmission lines connecting the windfarm to the grid has been constructed. The project has now reached a peak employment rate, with an average of 700-750 workers onsite daily.
A project of this size of course does not come without its challenges. For example; weather events like seasonal flooding and to solve this we have constructed waterway crossing road structures to pass over the waterways.
This flagship project will be great for #SoutheastQueensland and their renewable energy commitments. As well as providing local jobs, the MacIntyre Wind Precinct will raise significant economic activity across the Goondiwindi, Southern Downs and Toowoomba Regional Council areas.
