C20 Summit Parallel Events
The High-Level Panel on Cross-Border Data Flows, 6 October 2022 at 7 PM (GMT+8) or Bali Time
The cross-border data flow issue has been especially been under discussions since the G20 meeting in Osaka, 2019, called the Osaka Track. Speaking in connection with the G20 Indonesia priority issue pertaining to cross-border data flow, the issues that came up for discussion also pertained to establishing principles, such as compliance with the law, fairness, transparency, and to some extent, emphasising the issue of reciprocity. However, the issue has not achieved any concrete conclusion for the G20 Leaders' Summit in Bali next November.
The global civil society organisations, will hold a High-level Panel Discussion during the C20 Summit in Bali to discuss the G20 agenda and the needs for international legal framework and governance on cross-border data flows.
