Hey guys,
In this video I will be comparing the casting performance of the Soloking Acura, the Kastking Kestrel Elite BFS, and the Shimano Aldebaran BFS(22') reels. To keep the testing the same throughout my comparisons, I will be using the Fishman Beams Blancsierra 4.8UL rod and casting a 3.5g and 5g practice lure. I did attempt casting a 1g practice lure but the rod is not rated for 1g and it was quite difficult to do so. If you are interested in the 1g weight category please leave a comment below and I will try to add this weight in a future video. To keep all of the information easily accessible I will share the distances that I was able to cast with the corresponding reel and weight below:
Soloking Acura 3.5g
1. 63’
2. 78’ 3”
Soloking Acura 5.0g
1. 82' 2"
2. 72'
Kastking Kestrel Elite BFS 3.5g
1. 48' 4"
2. 46'
Kastking Kestrel Elite BFS 5.0g
1. 60' 4"
2. 60' 4"
Shimano Aldebaran BFS(22') 3.5g
1. 66' 11"
2. 68' 8"
Shimano Aldebaran BFS(22') 5.0g
1. 77'
2. 71' 7"
CHAPTERS:
1:37 Soloking Acura 5g
2:38 Soloking Acura 3.5g
4:22 Kastking Kestrel Elite BFS 3.5g
6:11 Kastking Kestrel Elite BFS 5g
7:10 Shimano Aldebaran BFS(22') 5g
7:47 Shimano Aldebaran BFS(22') 3.5g
This casting comparison is by no means a perfect test and I only cast twice per reel. I am slated to receive a replacement for my Kastking Kestrel to see if my particular copy was defective so I may do this test again in the near future. Furthermore, there were multiple factors that may have affected my casting such as wind, my technique, etc. Anyhow, I hope this gives you a rough idea of the distances these reels are capable of casting and that you find this video informative. If you have any ideas for future videos please leave them in the comments below. As always, thanks so much for watching and cheers!
