Making Regulations, requirements and recommendations actionable
To date BIM/VDC implementation has focused almost exclusively on the supply and implementation of solutions with the corresponding neglect of the demand side as expressed in government regulations, client requirements and environmental and other recommendations. Without the continuous and automated monitoring of compliance, projects and operations in the built environment will not benefit from the confidence and accuracy that system engineering offers. This presentation describes original ideas on knowledge representation and demonstrate ‘AEC3 Require1’ which is a new workbench dedicated to the rapid enabling of compliance checking of any normative document against (BIM) models and user-provided information.
