While studying at Shanghai Open University, Yiming Wang went on a ten-day field trip to New Zealand and was impressed by the beautiful harbour and islands she saw, and the lecturers she met. Motivated by her passion for protecting the environment, she applied for the Master of Marine Science at the University of Auckland. Through her research at the Leigh Marine Laboratory, Yiming aims to gain insights into how climate change and decarbonisation impact the world’s oceans.
