Excess engine Oil is BAD for/Can Damage your Engine. No need to grovel about under the car trying to drain oil from the sump as it is possible to Suck the excess oil out from the dipstick! I was dubious when I bought a Syringe off Amazon but it worked really well. I was surprised how well the syringes worked creating a very good vacuum.

The crankshaft could be touching the oil which creates drag and also froths the oil reducing its effectiveness. Please take this problem seriously. (anything over a litre or 2 pints could create these problems.
If you doing this regularly consider buying a professional oil extractor pump.
