I stayed in the Transmanche Capsule Hotel, whilst travelling on DFDS's Cote D'Albatre, between Newhaven to Dieppe.
The original plan was to catch the night ferry and slum it in a recliner for a few hours, whilst filming the rest of the ship. But just before we were due to set sail, I noticed the ship had Capsule's. So popped to reception and I was able to get myself one, for €23.35, so at this point, my plan changed to just getting some sleep, as I was travelling to the south of France by train, one we arrived in Dieppe.
The mattress in the capsule was soft and comfy. The charge points were good. I found the capsule to be quite warm, but it did cool down after opening the air vent.
The ferry crossing itself cost £31 and I only booked it the day before.
DFDS confirmed the capsules are normally only available to freight drivers, so I was lucky to get one. On my return trip on the Seven Sisters, a couple weeks later, I couldn't get a capsule and had to slum it. There was also the addition of Freight Driver signs
