Plays are a great way to learn French. You can go to the theatre 🎭 - Vous pouvez aller au théâtre 🎭
Or you can read them if you prefer. Ou vous pouvez les lire si vous prérérez.
I have been reading Les Pique-niqueurs with my Thursday Zoom class. It's about a group of friends staying at a boarding house in Paris who go on a bike ride where everything goes wrong!
It's not suitable for total beginners.

I love Marcel Pagnol's plays set in and around la Provence. They're funny and poignant.
e.g. Naïs - about a hunchback in love with a young woman

or the wonderful trilogy - Marius, Fanny, César

For a more traditional period play you can read Molière.
For example Les Femmes Savantes - a comedy.

If you like philosophy and politics go for some Jean Paul Sartre.
e.g. Huit clos [ Ссылка ] (You can read an exert on Amazon with the Kindle versions)
You can always get a study guide to help you.
Let me know what French you'd like to in 1 minute or less.
