Twin villages of Lynmouth and Lynton in North Devon is a beautiful countryside holiday season place to visit. It is also known as Little Switzerland, as it resembles the landscapes of Switzerland.
Lynmouth is at the foot of the cliffs and Lynton is at the top. The two are connected by the water-powered Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway dating from 1890.
The North Devon coast where Exmoor meets the sea is a beautifully rugged landscape with cliffs, gorges, forests and moors. A short, easy walk from Lynton is the Valley Of Rocks, definitely worth a trip, keep a lookout for the famous feral goats.
A short drive from Lynmouth and Lynton is Doone Valley. The picturesque valley inspired R D Blackmore to write the romantic novel, Lorna Doone.
