In 2 Corinthians 7:10, it is written, "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." Real repentance is transformative, changing the heart and actions, leading to spiritual renewal and a deeper relationship with God. On the other hand, fake repentance is often superficial, motivated by guilt, shame, or fear of punishment rather than true remorse. In Matthew 27:3-5, Judas Iscariot experienced a form of sorrow for betraying Jesus, but it was not repentance that led to redemption; rather, it was regret that led him to despair. True repentance, as the Bible teaches, involves not just confessing sin but also a commitment to forsake it, reflecting a change that comes from the heart and the grace of God, as stated in Acts 3:19, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
