11 Nov 2018 Talk at CoE CPEC Should we privatize our State Owned Enterprises? Would privatization solve the management issues and make them successful? Will replacing the social service motive with profit motive contribute positively? This debate has been there among economists, policy makers and legislators. But some very important aspects are often overlooked in the discussion. There is no talk in the literature and among scholars on the variables such as Integrity, honesty and moralities. Ignoring such key issues has led us to present solutions that don’t work. It’s the lack of emphasis on these key things that has made us formulate the problem in the wrong way. And the reason this is neglected and overlooked, is because the idea generated in Europe and that society had its own dynamics and realties and therefore are not relevant to our Context. There is a need of finding the solution which are more culturally and historically relevant to our societies because one size does not fit all.
