On the second to last week before the 9 was supposed to be cut from service, I had taken a ride on it just to see if it was any busy after the announcement was made. Not to my surprise it was nearly empty and I wouldn't have faulted a bus company for axing a route that barely anyone uses.
Then on 30 October it was announced that they would reinstate the route with "council funding" though in this case they have swapped the areas served with the 13 which doesn't suffer as badly from the issues the 9 faces.
