美시카고 교외서 독립기념일 행진 도중 총격…최소 6명 사망
At least six people have been shot dead at a July Fourth Independence Day parade in a Chicago suburb.
City authorities say the shooting began shortly after the event in the city of Highland Park began on Monday morning local time.
At least 24 people have been hospitalized.
Police are still searching for the suspect, who they have described as a young white man.
The shooter appeared to have targeted the parade's attendees at random.
Residents have been urged to stay at home and contact their loved ones to make sure they are safe.
Nearby suburbs have been locked down... while local parades and fireworks shows have been cancelled.
