Serbia is still under lockdown. We gave up all hopes of going to the seaside for a holiday, but pretty soon we figured out that we should not despair and that the mountains are incredibly beautiful in the summer too.
We settled on a trip to Drvengrad. Drvengrad, also know as Mećavnik or Kustendorf, is an ethno village resort. The famous movie director Emir Kusturica built this little village for his movie Life is a Miracle (2004).
Today this little movie set has grown to become a lovely resort. Besides offering lovely comfortable little cottages you can stay in, with a great view, fresh mountain air, you can enjoy great facilities such as a pool, sauna, gym, tennis court, basketball court and many more. You can taste fresh local food and indulge in delicious wine that's also locally made.
We had a blast staying here for an entire week. We really took advantage of everything this resort has to offer and we even briefly met Mr Emir Kusturica.
