STORY-LINE:
Stocks in the UAE ended the first week of 2017 in the green, increasing 0.28 percent. The Dubai Financial Market General Index closed at 3,627.86 on Thursday
EMAAR shares however fell by 0.40 percent.
A day earlier, the Dubai Financial Market announced it will introduce regulated short-selling to boost trading. Last week, Abu Dhabi's stock exchange said it is in talks with investors to introduce short-selling in the first months of 2017 to increase liquidity.
