London mayor Sadiq Khan has urged Londoners to remain vigilant following the escape of prisoner Daniel Khalife from Wandsworth prison.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating whether the escape of Khalife from HMP Wandsworth was an inside job involving prison guards, the force’s commissioner has said.
Sir Mark Rowley said Khalife’s escape was clearly pre-planned and was extremely concerning. His comments came as officers scoured Richmond Park in southwest London for the fugitive.
