On April 28, 2020, at approximately 2:30 AM, the victim arrived at his vehicle in the 3300 block of Dauphine Street to retrieve his belongings. Unbeknownst to the victim an unknown male was inside his vehicle as he opened the rear hatch to his SUV. The subject, who had been burglarizing the victim’s vehicle, exited the SUV armed with a handgun. The gunman pointed the firearm at the victim and demanded cash. The victim stated he did not have any money. The perpetrator fired his weapon several times at the victim as he fled on Dauphine Street towards Piety Street. The perpetrator then continued to flee on Piety Street towards the river.
The perpetrator was described as a black male, approximately in his middle 20s to middle 30s, 5’09” tall and approximately 160lbs. The perpetrator was further described as having a medium complexion and clean shaven. The perpetrator was said to have been wearing “Pastel colors” and a white “fanny pack”.
