BJP MP Manoj Tiwari filed an appeal with the Supreme Court on October 10 against the AAP government's ban on crackers. The Supreme Court denied an urgent hearing on Thursday to the petition filed by Tiwari challenging the Delhi government's decision to prohibit the sale, purchase, and use of firecrackers during the festive season in the national capital region. Meanwhile, stubble-burning incidents have been on the rise, particularly in Punjab, and the state government has not taken adequate measures to prevent farm fires.
‘’The only way stubble burning can be banned is if we declare it as 'Parali Dehan', a Hindu festival’’, says Anand Ranganathan.
