When history looks back on some of South Africa’s most prominent musicians to have had an impact on South African and international music, it will no doubt list Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu among the greats. The married pair have had an illustrious music career since the 1960s. Individually they hold impressive accolades with Letta Mbulu having 12 albums to her name while also garnering huge praise from Quincy Jones. Caiphus Semenya boasts an Academy award for the Best Original Score for his artistry in the 1985 film; The Colour Purple. Together the pair contributed to the arrangement of Michael Jackson’s Liberian Girl. It’s a show not to be missed!
