Linked data is one of the key elements of the Semantic Web, whose primary function is to provide an environment, where datasets can be readable for both humans and machines. Linked data enables linkage between different datasets in a non-hiearchical way; thus, knowledge grows exponentially. The data to be published as linked open data should be structured and the publishing process requires some prerequisites to ensure standarization. Thus, the data can be understood by all clients and machines based on standards. In this context, this presentation will discuss the linked open data approach and its advantages in cultural heritage studies.
