Jasper is part of Canada’s famous Canadian Rockies, and although it isn’t quite as famous as Banff, it is just as beautiful. There is so much to see and do and in Jasper.
Here’s a quick mini guide to some of the amazing places to visit in Jasper, and head to my blog for my full Jasper guide with 24 awesome things to do in Jasper!
6 amazing places to visit in Jasper:
1. Lake Beauvert at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge: It is free to visit the grounds, and even those who don’t stay with the lodge can pay to canoe & partake in other activities here.
2. The Sulphur Skyline Trail: This is an amazing hike with incredible views. This hike is rated as hard but it’s worth the climb. You’ll see some of the most breathtaking panoramas that Jasper has to offer! (No, I don’t hike in my dresses. I change at the top! 😆)
3. Spirit Island: One of the most incredible places to visit in Jasper, and one of the most iconic and famous places in all of Canada! It’s a sacred place to the Stoney Nakoda First Nations, and photos of it have been featured around the world. You can either paddle 14km each way to Spirit Island, or take the quick 20 minute Maligne Lake Cruise!
4. Whistlers Mountain: Take the Jasper SkyTram up the mountain and then do the short hike to the summit. You’ll get some amazing views without the effort of hiking up a mountain.
5. Opal Hills: the Opal Hills hike is a beautiful 8km hike that’s especially stunning in fall.
6. Maligne Canyon: while you can visit Maligne Canyon year round it is especially epic to visit in winter. You can do the Maligne Canyon ice walk and hike into the frozen canyon, taking you by frozen waterfalls and caves! More info on this in my guide.
