Ralph Baumgartl is talking to Harald Grosskopf the german Drummer who recorded the legendary Electronic Album “Synthesist”. Harald played an important role in the development of the electronic music scene in Germany during the 1970s. From 1971 until 1975 he was the drummer of the german band “Wallenstein”. During that time he also collaborated with Manuel Göttsching, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream in “The Cosmic Jokers” and “Cosmic Courier” sessions that were taking place at the studio of Dieter Dierks. He then joined Manuel Göttsching’s band Ashra. Harald was also playing the drums on several classic Klaus Schulze studio albums. In 1979 he recorded his legendary album “Synthesist” using a “Sequential Circuits Prophet 10” synthesizer. And in 1981 he founded the “Neue Deutsche Welle” band “Lilli Berlin”. This is an informative interview full of fascinating stories anecdotes. Enjoy!
