The non-profit Association INEMEA* is organizing a charity auction “Artists for Israel”, all proceeds from which will go to help the Nahal Oz massacre victims on October 7, 2023.
The charity auction “Artists for Israel” will take place from October 29 to November 6, 2023.
Kibbutz Nahal Oz was located less than a kilometer from the border with the Gaza Strip. It was a small settlement of over 400 people in the Negev Desert, where for 70 years the kibbutz residents were working hard to transform the desert into fertile fields. Nahal Oz was known for its developed agriculture and livestock breeding. Its residents valued their peaceful, calm lives.
On the evening of October 7, a grand celebration was planned in Nahal Oz in honor of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the kibbutz. All residents, workers, family, and friends were supposed to gather around the table and celebrate life and prosperity. But the morning of this day changed everything.
Hamas militants invaded the kibbutz. They brutally killed elderly, women, children, and entire families were slaughtered by Hamas. They burned houses, and destroyed property. Many civilians including kids and elderly people of Nahal Oz were kidnapped and driven to the Gaza Strip.
It is impossible to bring back the dead, but you can help those who survived. People have lost relatives and friends, lost homes, property, and their businesses. They need to rebuild their lives. INEMEA, whose main mission is dialogue and interaction between cultures and creative communities in Israel and the world, has asked renowned artists living in Israel and other countries to donate their works for participation in an online auction and thereby help the affected residents of Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
