Alleghany County/Covington Sheriff Kevin Hall and Cpl. Ray Keen put on a demonstration of the newly-acquired full-body scanner now present at the Alleghany Region Jail. Now, smuggling drugs or other items into the jail will be much more difficult. The purpose of the system is safety, Keen noted.
