On a roadtrip in Galicia, Spain The Recipe Hunters encounter about 100 women in the inlet of Muros y Noia harvesting berberechos or cockles. We head to into the water to help and learn about berberechos. These fisherwomen have been harvesting berberechos for generations. To conserve these cockles, the local government has size limits and daily collection limits. During the autumn the women head into the water during low tide and rake away until they fill their buckets with berberechos. They then hurry over to the weighing station to sell their berberechos before the daily quota is met! It's a fun competition! Music by Pelepau
