Here’s an easy steelhead plug fishing tip that will help you catch more fish.
Simply wrap the underside of the plug with a pice of coon shrimp. The added scent can greatly increase the number of bites you get. If you can find coon shrimp, raw prawn works well too.
To secure the bait, use stretchy thread like Miracle Thread.
As far as plugs go, the @YakimaBait MagLip in the 3.0 and 3.5 sizes really hold bait well without the action being affected.
There are many varieties of cured coon shrimp available at tackle shops and online. I prefer the Washington Star Coon Shrimp brand from Pacific Coast Outdoors.
