Yetzer Hara sometimes fools us to pick and choose between Jewish traditions in specific halachos. However, that's not allowed. We can't be "Sephardic" during Pesach to eat rice and beans, and become "Ashkenazi" and wear wigs in the time of hair covering. When we shop around the halachos, try to find leniency and tradition to fit our own likes, we in essence cast off the yoke of Serving HaShem from our neck. Because this indicates we want to serve HaShem in our ways, not in His ways.
Learn with Rabbi Lev Leib Lerner, say No to Yetzer Hara, follow our own tradition, be modest, and be holy.

In this captivating YouTube video, Rabbi, an esteemed and knowledgeable figure, delves into the intriguing topic of Jewish traditions and the ongoing debate between the Ashkenazic and Sephardic customs. With a warm greeting of "Shalom Aleichem, friends!" Rabbi sets the tone for an engaging discussion.
Rabbi emphasizes the significance of two strong Jewish traditions, Ashkenazic and Sephardic, each with their own unique practices and respected authorities known as poskim. However, Rabbi specifically addresses a controversial practice among some Sephardic women who have adopted Ashkenazic customs, particularly the wearing of wigs.
He highlights that historically, wigs were never allowed according to any Sephardic Posek, notably the esteemed Rav Ovadya Yosef ZT"L, widely regarded as the greatest authority of recent times. Even his son, Rav Yitzhak Yosef SHLYT"A, the chief Sephardic rabbi of Israel, strongly opposes this practice.
The video references the existence of numerous testimonial videos on their main channel, further supporting the discussion's authenticity and depth. Rabbi firmly emphasizes that despite certain individuals, even those of lesser authority, attempting to justify wig-wearing, it does not alter the underlying Halacha, the Jewish religious law.
Rabbi urges Sephardic women to embrace their heritage and wear the Kisui Rosh, a head covering that symbolizes a crown, reinforcing their identity as daughters of the king. With unwavering conviction, Rabbi encourages pride in this traditional form of head covering and affirms that no wigs should be worn.
Join Rabbi in this thought-provoking video, as he sheds light on the Ashkenazic-Sephardic divide and presents a compelling case for upholding Sephardic traditions, rooted in history and Halacha.
