A KPLC prepaid meter, works more like a phone with preloaded credit. If you’re using the Hexing Prepaid Meter (CIU EV500), This tutorial has useful short codes you can input through the keypad to get some secret meter information.
Prepaid Meter:
You purchase electricity tokens (codes or units) beforehand through mobile money or designated vendors.
The meter deducts units as you use electricity.
You can monitor your remaining units on the meter's display.
Power cuts off when your units are depleted, requiring you to top up.
Offers better budget control as you only pay for what you use.
If you’re using the Hexing Yaka Prepaid Meter (CIU EV500), here’s a list of useful shortcodes you can input through the keypad to get meter information:
Total active forward energy: Input Q800 to check the total active energy. "Total active forward energy” is just a fancy way of saying how much electricity you’ve taken out and used up ever since that KPLC meter was installed.

This SGC number is used as an input parameter when creating the supply group vending key, which makes the vending key distinct for every supply group.)
😀Okay, let's make it even simpler! Imagine you have a big box of pencils. This code is like a short number written on the box that tells grown-ups which stores this box of pencils came from. It helps them keep track of things! The number is short, just like you can count your fingers!
