Two teens responsible for carjacking a woman and shooting a bystander, causing the victim to lose his eye, will be behind bars until they’re 20 years old after a judge handed down their sentences Tuesday afternoon.
Makay Boone, 15, and Zajiante Graham, 16, pleaded guilty to assault, robbery, and taking a motor vehicle without permission related to a crime spree that started outside WinCo Foods in Sumner in November 2023.
Both teens apologized and owned up to their actions in court, pleading guilty to the felony charges in a plea agreement.
The shooting victim forgave both teens but said he will forever live with the consequences of their actions that night.
Investigators said the two teens robbed two people, stealing a woman’s purse and car, then shot at someone who tried to step in and stop the crime.
