Ever heard of Santo Stefano di Sessanio? It wouldn't be surprising if you hadn't heard of it, as this medieval Italian village was about to become a ghost town. But then a millionaire came to the rescue to save this picturesque place. In an effort to revive the village, he set up guest rooms all over town. DW reporter Diana Piñeros spent one night there. Here’s what she made of it.
Santo Stefano di Sessanio lies in the hills of Abruzzo, about two hours drive from Rome.
