"That women in Australia deserve genuine progress on women's safety, health and economic security, including: fully funded frontline women's safety services; superannuation on paid parental leave; investment in affordable housing to tackle the growing risk of homelessness amongst older women; raising the rate of income support and the minimum wage; making a full range of reproductive healthcare accessible through the public health system; and making universal, high quality early childhood education and childcare free and accessible across the country all of which could be funded with $254 billion in savings from scrapping the Stage 3 tax cuts, which mostly benefit rich men."
The matter of public importance (MPI) for discussion in this video was proposed by Senator Hollie Hughes:
"The Government's failure to provide certainty about who and what will be taxed under Labor's broken promises for new super taxes and new franking credit taxes, including our hard working farmers who are at risk of paying thousands more in tax simply because of paper fluctuations in commercial property prices."
