What you're looking at is a robotic wheelbarrow (which I will share more about later) with ultrasonic sensors for direction finding. These are the common HC-SR04 modules available all over the place, but I'm not using them as intended. I have removed the transmitters from two of them in order to use them as receivers only, then I am sending out an ultrasonic pulse from a small beacon. By comparing the time of arrival at each receiver I can calculate the angle, and with an extra radio signal I can synchronize both devices and also determine the distance. I'm giving that information to this robot and using it to follow me around... as you can see it's not without faults, loss of signal is something I need to address in the software.
